For a woman known for eternally being in all black, embracing jewel tones is not something I find easy, however since getting my 30th birthday treat from Monica Vinader in deep green I’ve been leaning more towards jewel tones and how well they work with all black!
I went against all of my usual bag purchasing instincts when Radley got in touch and let me choose a bag, I steered away from over sized and black and went for the most beautiful ox blood/berry envelope, cross body bag and I have not had one regret about it!
Let me introduce you to the Radley Palace Street, it’s not only the most intense berry shade, it also has a textured finished and a metallic sheen that makes it the snazziest of all cross body bags whether it’s hanging from your shoulder of an evening with a LBD or just as I wore it fully across my body over a cosy winter outfit for a day out in the country. For me it’s the perfect addition to my capsule wardrobe, not just for winter but all year round.
One the best things about this bag is the length of the strap, I know calm down Emma it’s only a strap, but let my break it down for you. I have big boobs which means I have two choices when it comes to wearing a cross-body bag, either resting between my boobs or laid over one of them giving me a third boob kinda vibe, neither of which I am here for! This happens when the strap is really short, but that was not the case with the Palace Street, even on the shortest eyelet it’s the perfect flattering length. So if you’re like my and have tattas for days, this bag would work perfectly for you!
Second best thing about this bag is the design is perfect, even the littlest details have been thought through, from the 3 card holder built into the bag to the outside back pocket that fits my iPhone 7+ and magnetic clasp close that works every time so you’re not grappling around trying to close it on the go!
Although I love berry and burgundy tones on other people, I usually steer away from it, maybe due to my whole primary school years being dominated by the colour *and some questionable PE knickers!* However this bag has inspired me to add more jewel tones into my capsule wardrobe, starting with this gorgeous faux fur stole from Primark with it’s ombre tones, it adds a pop to even the most simple outfit and although I love it with this more dressed up day time look it would look out of this world good with my fancy pants evening outfits!
But it’s not only the stole that came home with me, this super oversized bobble hat did too! I love how it sits far enough back on my head to show off my new fringe, but doesn’t slip off and still keeps my head warm, as although the sunshine also had it’s hat on today it was a proper winter day!
Huge thank you to Radley for treating me to this beautiful bag, and helping me learn to embrace jewel tones!
*although I was gifted this bag, as always my posts are 100% honest
