Every year I say to myself that this will be the year I get my life together and have a proper plan for Christmas, however, we all know how that goes! Thankfully I managed to get almost all of my last minute shopping done at Coliseum Park in Ellesmere Port near Liverpool.
I find myself shopping in the same places all the time, and never seem to find the things I’m looking for, so I decided a change was as good as a rest and all that, so jumped in the car and headed off up the motorway with a list in hand.
First up, before I took on the onslaught of shopping madness, I had to stop for a festive latte, in fact the very first Gingerbread Spiced Latte I have ever had! I’m sure they heaps of sugar spurred me on to spend, spend, spend…
As soon as we got settled with our coffees, I used the free wifi at Coliseum to check online all the stores I was heading to to make a proper plan of the gifts I wanted, that was heading into the stores would be even easier!
It also made my freelancer life that much easier as even when I was in the midst of Star Wars Lego I could also check in on work bits and pieces and stay connected the whole time. Any chance to multi-task and I am all over it!
First up we headed to The Entertainer toy shop and almost too much to choose from for all the kids in my life, there was a fair amount of Star Wars and even the odd My Little Pony in the mix too.
Next up was Next, for all the wrapping goodies, there is something about their gift wrap that I gravitate towards, this year I’ve gone for brown paper, gold and black for under the Christmas tree. I know, I know, buying gift wrap before you buy the gifts maybe isn’t the best way to go, but surely ticking things off the list is ticking them off the list no matter what order that happens!
I also got some serious Christmas table inspiration from Next, they have the most beautiful windows all dressed up. The Noel sign came home with me, as did the beautiful gold striped wine glasses.
The stress of last minute shopping can get a little much, but places like Coliseum have literally everything you need in touching distance, rather than traipsing the length and breadth of a city.
We also hit Debenhams beauty hall which was packed with awesome gift ideas that I know my cousins will LOVE, the football lover in my life did well out of JD Sports and I even manged to pick up more than a few things for myself, including Christmas pjs and some lovely bath treats for my very much planned for down time between Christmas and New Year.
Of the 16 things on my list, I ticked 11 of them off my list. Is that isn’t a last minute shopping triumph I don’t know what is!
Once all the fun of shopping was done we headed to Five Guys for a burger then we got fully in the festive spirit and headed to Vue cinemas to see Paddington 2, the perfect end to my slightly hectic day of last minute shopping!
Fancy winning £100 to spend at Coliseum Shopping Park? Well now is your chance! If you’ve still got gifts to buy and you can get to Ellesmere Port, you could be in with a chance of winning!
During Christmas week Coliseum Park will be selecting five lucky winners at random – two on Wednesday 20th and three on Friday 22nd December. All you have to do is sign-up to our WiFi for the very first time, submitting all your details and logging in to the FREE service…good luck!
*thank you to Coliseum Park for working on this collaboration with me and helping me take the stress out of last minute shopping
