Holy crap, 2017 almost over! I hate to be that person, but seriously where has this year gone? With the days speeding past, I decided it was time to catch you up on my life lately…
Let’s take it back to October when I celebrated my 32nd birthday. First up was an escape from work for the afternoon to nerd up on Queen Victoria with Sarah, we pottered around Harewood House, ate cake with a view and of course got a snap outside the most beautiful house in Yorkshire…
After culture on a Friday, it was time for a little indulgence on the Saturday with my girls, Laura, Ally, Claire, Sarah & Becca, who spoilt me with beautiful gifts & joined me for a super indulgent, boozy lunch at Neighbourhood in Leeds.
We had more prosecco than was necessary, which when it comes to birthdays is exactly how it should be!
After an awesome day with the girls, mum and I packed up the car with the dogs and headed to our favourite place, Hunmunby Gap in Filey. It’s a hideaway that we love best in the winter, when the beach is all ours and the fire can be lit, perfect way to spend my actual birthday.
Look how happy my boys face is when he saw the sea! Running along the beach should always be followed by the most immense hot chocolate and a little time reflecting the year that’s passed and pondering about the year ahead.
It wasn’t all play, it’s been the most intense few months for work for me, most of it isn’t photogenic but I must admit to loving filming with one of my clients for some social content. It’s also inspired me to further invest in my skill set by signing up to a video production and editing course starting in the new year!
Within moments of work happening it was off to Leeds to try out a new foodie joint Cosy Club, hands down one of the best espresso martinis I have ever had. Also a perfect chance to catch up over a lot of drinks with one of my favourite men, who is about as different to be as possible but gets my crazy work ideas as much as I get his!
It was a two nights out a week kinda month November, thanks to Jet2 spoiling myself and some other local bloggers with the most festive evening in a beautiful banquet hall at the Tetley Brewery in Leeds. We had fun and games, awesome food and best of all the chance to spend some time with the brand getting to know the people who work there and their plans for the 2018, which includes a little trip to Rome for me!
Expect a lot of Italian love in January.
I headed off to Ellesmere port this month for a little campaign with Coliseum Shopping Park *keep your eyes peeled for a post about it coming soon* whilst there I had my first EVER Pumpkin Spice Latte, true story! We also got to see Paddington 2, which was so lovely and a little cheeky treat for a Thursday afternoon.
Can we also take a moment to appreciate the enormous wreath mum and I stumbled upon at Cheshire Oaks and couldn’t resist getting a snap in it, definitely got in the festive spirit that day!
Ellesmere Port wasn’t my only shopping jaunt, we also headed over to my favourite interiors shop IN THE WORLD, Cinnamon Bay in Yarm. Nestled away above Strickland and Holt, Cinnamon Bay is a treasure trove of chic gifts and utterly perfect interior treats, including this beautiful Gin & Tonic collection and a book to go with it…someone may indeed be getting that under the tree this year.
The tiny little jar shot glasses may have also come home with me! If you want to treat yourself or someone to something special without the hefty price tag, I cannot recommend Cinnamon Bay enough.
The festivities didn’t stop there either, after listening to some Christmas classics on the journey home, I decided this year was the year for a real tree and I LOVED decorating it whilst singing at the top of my lungs to Marriah & The Pogues…Christmas is coming!
So there you have it, my last life lately update for 2017, but let me tell you I have some exciting travel plans for 2018 including Rome, New York, Toronto and Toulouse, not to mention some amazing brand collaborations and of course a healthy dose of opinion and lifestyle insights.
There will be a few more posts from me this year, and then I will be taking a few weeks off and back with a bang in January!
