I was thrilled to be invited along to Pastille Beauty in Leeds to celebrate their relaunch following a make over earlier this month, within 5 minutes walk from the platforms at Leeds station, they couldn’t be more perfectly located!
Never underestimate the joy of getting a great manicure, along with the perfect pair of jeans and the elusive perfect bedding, there is something about painted nails that makes you feel like you are ‘together’ and successfully adulting. So finding a new place that not only does fantastic treatments like nails, lashes and brows, in fact everything you need to feel and look your best, is right up there with the best things in the world as far as I am concerned!
Situated in Leeds’ award-winning Granary Wharf development, Pastille Beauty Bar specialises in gel manicures and hand-painted nail art, if you want to be impressed head over to their Instagram and you’ll see! As well as beautiful finger nails, they also specialise in pedicures, lash extensions, and brow treatments.
Not only was it a fantastic event to be invited along to, it was also the perfect chance to catch up with some of my favourite girls, including Ally, Lauren & Dei, pampering and gossiping, what could be better!
I was in the safe hands of Liv, who had the most incredible ombre nails herself, but I did my usual thing and went for a safe colour, Rule The Runway from Gelish. I’m always on the hunt for efficient and talented nail technicians, I don’t have a huge amount of time so the snappier the better, but I also have high standards, so there are very few people who impress me. Lia is one of those, so much so that I have already been back for a mani and pedi with Liv. My ego has very much appreciated all the compliments I have been given on my lovely nails!
Along side the beautiful treatments were yummy drinks, including Bloom Gin & tonics with pretty paper straws, blogger cliches that I am absolutely ok with! The whole beauty bar is Instagram fodder made even better by the appearance of Winnie the puppy *she has her own Instagram and it’s perfection*
Once my nails were done I was treated to the most stunning henna hand art by Farzana of the newly-founded Eliza’s Elegance. If you are looking for a henna artist Farzana is the one for you. We chatted about South Shields, where our families are from, we talking about being a women in business and finding our niche and way in the world. So beauty art and enlightened conversation. Perfect evening!
The salon was founded in 2013 by Abra Wynn and Erene Hadjioannou and has since gone on to win Best New Business Young Entrepreneur of the Year (Women in Business 2015), and been a finalist in the Yorkshire Women of Achievement Awards 2016 (Business category) and Leeds Love Affair Independent Business Awards 2016 (Best Business Owners category). Pastille and its Team are regularly featured in the top UK magazine for Nail Technicians, Scratch, which culminated in being shortlisted for Nail Salon of the Year 2016. PHEW, that is quite a list of accomplishments, and best of all they not only champion their own business and staff, but support and promote other women in business in Leeds with their free Collaborative Partnership Scheme for businesses and individuals to maintain Leeds’ reputation as a vibrant and diverse city.
Thank you so much to Abra and Erene for inviting me along, and I can say hand on heart I won’t be going anywhere else to have my nails done! New favourite place for sure!
