Top Fantasy Series for Adults to Dive Into
I fell down the rabbit hole of fantasy a couple of years ago, and now it’s all I want to read. There’s something magical about escaping the everyday grind, getting lost in other worlds, and following characters I can stick with through a whole series. These books stay with me even when I’m not reading – it’s impossible to stop thinking about them! Below is my list of all time favourites!
A Court of Thorns and Roses
By Sarah J Mass
“A Court of Thorns and Roses” was the first fantasy series that truly swept me off my feet and got me into the genre. Although the first book felt a little slow, everything changed with the second one. From then on, I couldn’t stop—I binged the entire series in a week and became completely absorbed in the world, romance, and richly drawn characters. The world felt so alive that even now, I still catch myself thinking about it.
But it was the final book that hit me on a whole different level. Something about Nesta’s journey resonated deeply with me, and her character growth changed something in me. Her strength, struggles, and resilience made her a character I’ll never forget. To this day, Nesta remains one of my favourite characters, and this series holds a special place in my heart. A must read!
Throne of Glass
By Sarah J Mass
“Throne of Glass” took my love for fantasy to a whole new level. After finishing A Court of Thorns and Roses, I dove straight into this series, and it quickly became my all-time favorite. Sarah J. Maas weaves an epic tale filled with powerful themes of resilience, loyalty, and courage. And then there’s Dorian Havilliard—need I say more? He’s one of those unforgettable characters who captures your heart and doesn’t let go.
At the heart of it all is a fierce, iconic main character who defies every expectation. She’s unapologetically strong and complex, bringing depth and power to every page. The series explores so many themes, from self-discovery to sacrifice, and it’s one that will always resonate with me. Truly, this is fantasy at its best.

By Rebecca Yarros
“Fourth Wing” was the perfect entry back into the fantasy world, especially after finishing all of Sarah J. Maas’s books and hitting a bit of a reading slump. This series has an incredibly fast-paced plot that pulls you in right from the start, making it an ideal starting point for new fantasy readers or anyone looking for an immersive escape. The world-building is rich yet easy to dive into, and the blend of action and intrigue kept me on the edge of my seat.
The second book blew me away with its twists and character depth, taking the story to a whole new level, and I’m counting down the days until the third one releases! This series has reignited my love for fantasy and reminded me how amazing it feels to get lost in a book that’s impossible to put down. It’s safe to say I’m completely hooked!
Zodiac Acadamy
